PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — A pair of metro Atlanta 911 dispatchers are finding new places to live after their homes burned down within 10 days of each other.

On Dec. 16, Paulding County 911 dispatcher Kiesha Archer’s home burned down, and on Dec. 26, a Cobb County 911 dispatcher’s home in Paulding County also burned down. Now, a local community group is raising money to help them.

“It takes something off of their plate where we’ll just collect the funds for them and then turn it over to them when the fundraiser closes,” said Taylor Cantrell, secretary of Paulding County Public Safety Appreciation. “We need them to be able to get back on their feet so they can give back to their own community.”

Cantrell told WSB this was the best way to support their community members in need. Both fires are still under investigation.
