ATLANTA — The Georgia House has approved the Riley Gaines Act by a vote of 100 to 64.

The Riley Gaines Act is a bill aimed at prohibiting transgender athletes from girls sports.

Opponents say the legislation is a solution in search of a problem. The legislation now goes to the state senate for a final vote.

Democrats say the bill targets a vulnerable group.
