HALL COUNTY, Ga. — Two children are dead and a woman is injured in an incident near Gainesville.

Emergency officials were called out to a home along Crescent Drive in Hall County around 2 p.m. where they found an injured woman.

Once inside the home, authorities found the bodies of a 5-year-old boy and 6-year-old girl. Investigators said the children are brother and sister.

Investigators said while they are still looking into the circumstances around the incident, they did say deputies responded to a reported stabbing at home.

“We would like to thank the Hall County community for its patience in waiting for new information as we work this heartbreaking case,” the Hall County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post Friday night.

The woman was taken to a nearby hospital for her injuries. Police said there is no danger to the community at this time.
