STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. — Police are investigating reports of gunshots fired at Stone Mountain Park on Thursday, according to WSBTV.
Police responded to Stone Mountain Park after receiving reports of gunshots fired at the park around 3:30 p.m.
According to John Bankhead with Stone Mountain Park, officers searched the entire 3,000 acre park and found a gunman three hours later at the summit. The suspect, whose identity was not released, is dead according to police.
The incident remains under investigation.
The park will remain closed for the rest of the night.
