Henry County police officer shot on domestic call, suspect on the run

HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — A Henry County police officer has been shot and the suspect is still on the loose, officials say.

Henry County Police Chief Mark Amerman told Channel 2 Action News that an officer was responding to a domestic call around 6 p.m. when he was shot as he attempted to make an arrest.

Henry County police have identified the suspect as 22-year-old Jordan Jackson.

Chief Amerman adds that Jackson is “armed and dangerous” and has not been captured. He fled the scene in a white 2016 Honda Civic with license plate RXF0384.

There is no word on the extent of the officer’s injuries.

Police say the incident happened off of Key’s Ferry Road in McDonough.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been called to the scene to investigate.

Anyone with information on Jackson’s whereabouts should call 911.
