Hopeful news about Georgia’s COVID-19 battle? Gov. Kemp updates WSB

Gov. Kemp orders statewide shelter-in-place, closes schools for rest of school year Gov. Brian Kemp said Wednesday that he is issuing a statewide shelter-in-place order as the state continues to battle the coronavirus.

In a series of drastic steps taken to contain the coronavirus outbreak, Gov. Brian Kemp has extended Georgia’s shelter in place order through the end of April and imposed new restrictions on senior care facilities.

Gov. Kemp has also announced an extension for Georgia’s public health emergency through May 13, granting him more time to use extraordinary powers to suspend laws and impose other restrictions to contain the coronavirus pandemic.

Following a press conference on Wednesday, April 8, Gov. Kemp joined Atlanta’s Morning News live to focus on encouraging news related to Georgia’s COVID-19 battle.
