FAIRBURN, Ga. — A travel advisory is in effect for I-85 southbound north of Exit 61 for Highway 74 after a three-vehicle crash near Senoia Road.

Footage from Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) cameras showed debris on the freeway in Fairburn.

When the closure first happened the situation was considered a red alert. Lanes have since reopened on I-85, according to GDOT.

Officials said the crash involved three vehicles, two cars and a semi-truck. Two people were taken to a hospital for medical treatment, but there were no fatalities.

“All lanes are blocked southbound I-85 Before Senoia Rd (exit 61) due to a multiple vehicle accident in Fulton County. Emergency responders are currently working to reopen the lanes as quickly and as safely as possible. Motorists are strongly encouraged to avoid this area and seek an alternate route in order to avoid extreme delays,” according to the GDOT alert.

Officials said Fairburn police officers were responding to the scene as well.
