The younger sister of a murder victim took the stand on Wednesday in the trial of a woman accused of murdering 8-year old Amari Hall.
Hall was the daughter of Celeste Owens’ domestic partner Brittany Hall, who is awaiting her own murder trial.
The jury is hearing testimony against Owens. A detective testified there were inconsistencies when Owens and Amari’s mother reported her missing, saying as each spoke, the other would change their own words to echo, so police took them to HQ to interview each separately.
He said despite the women saying Brittany Hall had gone out to look for Amari, cameras at the motel revealed no one walking around looking for Amari the day she was reported missing.
Jurors also saw graphic video from Owen’s cell phone which showed the children being abused.
Amari’s younger sister is now 9. She testified about the last night she saw Amari alive in their room at the extended-stay motel.
