A spurned girlfriend stands trial for the murder of an East Point police officer.

Jury selection is set to begin Wednesday morning in Fulton County Superior Court for Danielle Parker.  She faces murder and weapons counts in the 2013 shooting death of East Point police officer Crystal Parker.

Prosecutors say the two had been involved in an on-and-off relationship for six years and shared a last name, but they had separated at the time of the murder.

Crystal Parker, a one-time Officer of the Year, was found shot to death in her College Park home after the July fourth weekend.  Danielle Parker, 32, was arrested days later.  She's remained jailed ever since.

Prosecutors cite jealousy as the motive.
