Supporters of changing Georgia’s litigation rules are cheering Governor Brian Kemp’s proclaiming that tort reform is his top legislative priority.
“We are definitely appreciative that the governor is making this a top legislative priority,” said James Beal, Executive Director of Georgians for Lawsuit Reform. “We are definitely looking forward to the governor, and what his policies are, and what levers he wants to pull in his space to try to make improvements and reduced the financial burdens Georgians are feeling.:
Kemp said legislation on tort reform will be introduced in the coming days. Democrats say they are open to working with Republicans, but need to see the bill first.
