Kia recently unveiled its newest electric vehicle at the 2023 New York International Auto Show.
“With the launch of the EV9, we are incorporating our experience in producing brilliantly designed, best-in-class SUVs with our deep expertise in developing the industry’s leading EVs,” said Sean Yoon, president and CEO, Kia North America and Kia America. “The EV9 is a credible, high-value SUV that encapsulates our approach to bringing innovative, consumer-focused products to market with a serious commitment to electrification.”
The EV9 is the first three-row vehicle with features such as interior volume and cargo space, towing capability, leading vehicle dynamics, rich interior appointments, and fast charging capability.
Officials say the vehicle will include next-generation interior material strategy and style with dual-display cockpit features, full digital instrumentation and multiple camera feeds, and alternatives to traditional leather trim including partially recycled materials.
The EV9 is expected to debut in the U.S. this year, and will be assembled in West Point, Ga., beginning in 2024, making it the first Kia EV to be assembled locally.
Pricing, timing for U.S. market availability, specific trim details, and EPA-rated AER for the EV9 are subject to future announcements, Kia officials said.
