Inside Kroger stores all across Georgia are self-serve tag renewal kiosks.

You can walk up, scan your Georgia driver’s license or enter your registration information, then follow the easy-to-use touch screen prompts to renew your vehicle registration in as little as one minute.

There are instructions and voice prompts in English and Spanish. No more sending it off in the mail and crossing your fingers you get the new decal back in time.

The problem is, not many people know the kiosks are there. They are tucked in next to lottery machines and coin machines inside select Kroger stores.

The state and counties realized the machines were not being used, so they are now getting a make-over.

The Kiosks are brightly colored and have new monitors that flash information to get your attention.

"The effort was to try to make them more appealing and to draw your eye to the machine and let you know what those machines were there to do," says Nicole Golden, Chief Deputy Tax Commissioner in DeKalb County.

She says they plan to add more kiosks and more locations in future. Right now there are two locations in DeKalb.

They are located inside the Kroger stores at Embry Village on Chamblee Tucker Road and the Decatur Kroger on North Decatur Road.

The state also plans to increase awareness and eventually include reminders inside your tag renewal notice.

Right now there are 11 Kiosks inside Kroger stores and more are on the way. Here is a list of current locations:
