Lawsuit claiming Home Depot disregarded employees well-being settled with workers for $9.5M

ATLANTA, GA — Home Depot, a Georgia based home improvement giant settles a case with employees.

A federal court says that Home Depot reached a fair $9.5 million dollar settlement with workers who claimed the home improvement giant failed to provide legally required breaks. Over 32,000 associate employees who worked for Home Depot between 2018 and this year said that policies prevented them from taking full meal and rest breaks.

Home Depot has now implemented a new timekeeping policy.

Lawyers were awarded 25% of the settlement amount.
