Reaction to the death of former President Jimmy Carter continues on Monday morning.

Both the mayor of Atlanta and the Governor of Georgia released written statements with condolences and well wishes to the Carter family.

“Today Atlanta mourns Georgia’s only President,” Dickens said.

Governor Brian Kemp’s statement reads that before becoming President, Carter worked to grow the state’s economic success and position on the national and international stage as a State Senator and the 76th Governor of Georgia.
