Man dies after ‘getting caught in the crossfire’ of Atlanta shooting, police say

ATLANTA — Police are investigating a deadly shooting in southwest Atlanta on Friday afternoon.

Police say officers responded to a person shot call at the 3500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive around 1 p.m. Upon arrival, officer found a male who was later pronounced dead by medical personnel.

According to preliminary investigation, the victim was “caught in the crossfire of two separate parties who appeared to have been shooting at one another.”

The identity of the victim and the two people involved in the shooting has not been released.

Police have also not released details about what led up to the shootout.
