ATLANTA — A Georgia man faces life in prison after he plead guilty to robbing a Lawrenceville couple and sexually assaulting one of them.
Police say 23-year-old Stevenson Charles connected through one of the victims through a dating app called “Scruff.”
According to Gwinnett County District Attorney Patsy Austin-Gatson, Charles also faces murder and armed robbery charges in DeKalb County.
“This defendant’s behavior is absolutely outrageous,” Austin-Gatson said. “We are pleased with this life sentence, and we hope this resolution gives justice to the individuals he targeted.”
DA Austin-Gatson warned, “be careful not to allow yourself to become a victim by hooking up with strangers on dating apps.”
