Manhunt underway after 31-year-old mother shot, killed inside her Gwinnett County home

NORCROSS, GA — The Gwinnett Police are asking the public for help in locating a man after a woman was shot and killed in her own home after a domestic incident.

On December 21 shortly after 7 p.m., Gwinnett police were called to a home on Creeldale Drive in unincorporated Norcross in response to a “person shot” call. The 911 operator who responded to the caller used a language interpretation service to learn that a woman was suffering from a gunshot wound.

Gwinnett County Fire Department also responded to the scene, in addition to the police officers. They determined the woman was deceased and the police called in the Homicide and Crime Scene Units.

The victim was identified as 31-year-old Jackmerly Jouselis Hernandez-Rodriguez.

GCPD detectives are currently looking for 35-year-old Victor Jose Yaraure Morillo who fled the scene in a 2016 black Toyota Corolla with a missing hubcap on a passenger’s side and a temporary tag of S2110371. Morillo is Hernandez-Rodriguez’s ex-husband.

Morillo is 4′11″ and 110lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes. Morillo has active warrants for Malice Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony.
