BIBB COUNTY, Ga. — A four-year-old from Marietta died in an accidental drowning over the Memorial Day weekend.

WGXA-TV in Macon confirmed the child’s death with the Bibb County Coroner’s Office. Officials told the news station that the four-year-old drowned at a home off Grace Trace in Lizella on Sunday afternoon.

Officials said paramedics took the four-year-old to a children’s hospital emergency room, but he did not survive.

The child’s name has not been released, but authorities confirmed that the family was from Marietta and visiting relatives in Bibb County.

The coroner’s office told WGXA-TV that it appears to be an accidental drowning. No other details have been released.
