Marietta police issue warning to lock your cars to prevent break-ins

MARIETTA, Ga. The Marietta Police Department is issuing a warning to the public to remember to lock your car doors and windows to prevent car break-ins.

“While it may sound repetitive, consistently employing the lock, take, hide strategy remains the simplest and most effective means of thwarting potential car break-ins,” the Marietta Police Department said.

Police said that many people go shopping or park there cars on the street or even in their driveways and don’t think they will be a victim of car break-ins.

“By eliminating temptations and increasing the level of difficulty, you significantly enhance the likelihood of safely preserving your belongings,” police said.

Police in metro Atlanta also offered important shopping tips and ways to prevent burglaries, scams and other thefts during the holidays.
