Marietta police are looking for the public’s help in solving a murder this week outside a carwash.

It was the night before New Year’s Eve when officers found a 59-year-old Daniel Richardson, Jr. dead on Bellemeade Drive near Powder Springs Road.

Officer Chuck McPhilamy said Richardson’s body was in the middle of a bay at a car wash.

“We did discover that individual had been shot,” McPhilamy said. “While the lifesaving attempts were made, they were unable to revive him.”

Investigators now hope someone may have some surveillance footage that can be reviewed.
