ATLANTA, GA — ATLANTA —MARTA announced an increase of train services through downtown Atlanta with three major upcoming events happening that will bring large crowds of people to the area.
The Peach Drop on New Year’s Eve, the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl Parade and Game on New Year’s Day and the Polar Opposite Race will draw major crowds, officials say.
For the Peach Drop, trains will run every seven minutes on the Red and Gold lines between Lindbergh Center Station and Airport Station and on the Blue and Green lines between Ashby Station and Candler Park Station.
“Our primary goal is to ensure safety for our residents and visitors,” said Solomon Caviness, the Transportation Commissioner for the City of Atlanta. “Safety is not just a buzzword for us. We have folks of all ages celebrating. Nobody wants their new year to start as a crash. If MARTA is not your first choice, we have services available.”

For the Peach Drop, MARTA said trains will run every seven minutes on the Red and Gold lines between Lindbergh Center Station and Airport Station, and on the Blue and Green lines between Ashby and Candler Park stations every seven minutes.
For the Peach Bowl, Trains will run every 7 minutes on the Red/Gold Lines between Lindbergh Center Station and Airport Station and on the Blue/Green Lines between Ashby Station and King Memorial Station.
Additional trains will run when the race concludes.
The Peach Drop has been a New Year’s Eve tradition for more than three decades.
