ATLANTA, GA — MARTA trains, buses and mobility transit services are all operating normally again following the weekend’s snow and ice. However, MARTA is suspending its streetcar service again, but this time it doesn’t have to do with the weather.

Spokeswoman Stephany Fisher says the streetcars are on pause again for previously scheduled work allowing Georgia Power to make emergency repairs on Carnegie Way. Marta shuttle vans, wrapped to look like the streetcar, will provide service along the streetcar route.

Other city contractors and utility companies will use the five day streetcar suspension to conduct any necessary repairs or adjustments near the tracks. The closure was announced last month, well ahead of this weekend’s service interruptions caused by the winter storm.

MARTA says streetcars will resume servicing the route Saturday morning at 8:15.
