ATLANTA, GA — Georgia is seeing a big jump in sign-ups for Affordable Care Act plans as Georgians are enrolling in record numbers.
New federal data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services shows more than 1.5 million Georgians have signed up for a plan, up at least 200,000 from 2023.
This is also the first year Georgians are required to use Georgia Access, the new state-based exchange.
State Insurance Commissioner John King recently told WSB they’ve tried to make it a simple process and that the new site gives Georgians more options and gives more revenue to Georgia. King said enrollment with the new state-based exchange has gone well so far.
Open Enrollment continues through next Wednesday.
