Nearly 2K air traffic controllers hired at airports across the U.S., officials say

ATLANTA — Months after operating with a severe shortage of workers, the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) has hired 1,800 air traffic controllers to work at airports across the United States.

The air traffic controllers have made a major impact at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. They help pilots to safely fly in and out of the world’s busiest airport.

Officials say the new hires are currently training.
