GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — The Beaver Ruin Wetland Park, a new wetland park in Gwinnett County is under construction and is expected to be the first of its kind in the county.

Tina Fleming, director of the Department of Community Services, says it will be the 53rd park in the Gwinnett County Park system.

The construction is expected to cost more than $19 million. Officials said 65% of the project is paid for by a one-percent sales tax that was voted in 2016.

“It includes a 12-foot-wide permit track trail boardwalk over the wetlands with connections to the surrounding neighborhoods,” Fleming said.
