Six students at a Gwinnett County high school are facing disciplinary actions for allegedly having sex off campus.

Students at Parkview High School tell WSB’s Sandra Parrish those being disciplined are all basketball players and left campus to have sex with one female.

A Gwinnett school district spokesperson couldn’t confirm they are athletes but said in a statement:

“The school has taken disciplinary action with six students for violating school rules. The students -- who were charged with sexual misconduct -- had been at school, left campus, and then returned to campus. In this type of situation, students are typically suspended pending a disciplinary panel.”

The incident comes after last spring’s arrest of popular Parkview teacher Mikey Henderson on charges of having a two-year sexual relationship with a student.

Students say this latest incident leaves a bad impression of the school.

“Being on the Parkview basketball team, you’re supposed to have an image. You’re supposed to look good and that doesn’t look good at all,” says a tenth grader who didn’t want to give her name.

According to the team’s website, basketball tryouts are scheduled for next week.
