Nine Cobb County jail inmates could see more time tacked on to their stays after they were accused of beating another inmate who was preparing to testify in court earlier this month.
Tedrick Stallworth, 23, was supposed to testify November 11 in a robbery and kidnapping case stemming from an attack on a woman in September of last year.
Earlier this month, Stallworth was attacked not once but twice just outside his cell in one of the jail's toughest pods.
"He was removed to the infirmary," said Sheriff Neal Warren. "He's been in protective custody ever since."
The nine suspects are all being investigated for assault, rioting in a prison and gang affiliations. They are identified as:
· Andrell Blunt, 21
· Demarco Draughan, 18
· Jeremy Hutchins, 26
· Ryan Montgomery, 21
· Johnny Pineda, 19
· Bryan Scroggs, 26
· Montavious Smith, 20
· Larry Stallworth, 20 (no relation to the victim, according to Warren)
· Defredrick Young, 32
Stallworth was only slightly hurt but Warren it's now not clear whether he'll testify.
