ATLANTA — A man is dead after a shooting in southwest Atlanta Tuesday evening.

Officers were called to a fight at Ashley Cascade Apartment Homes on Kimberly Way SW at 6:30 p.m. While officers were responding, dispatchers notified them that a person had been shot.

Police found a man on the scene suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are continuing to work to learn what led up to the shooting.
