Now former Cobb County District Attorney Flynn Broady is touting the one-year anniversary of the county’s Family Advocacy Center.
The center is located in Marietta, and Broady says it is the first of its kind in the state. Help is available for domestic violence victims, and they are able to get help without having to fill out a police report, or enter the justice system.
Because his mother was a victim of domestic violence, Broady said he learned how hard it is to escape, so he champions the Family Advocacy Center on Fairground Street for victims of domestic, sexual, or elder violence.
He says the center was especially needed over the holidays when domestic violence and human trafficking cases usually spike, and says a victim’s zip code doesn’t matter.
“If you are in trouble, if you can get to us, we can get you help,” Broady said.
