ALPHARETTA, Ga. — After a fire destroyed a beloved business in Forsyth County, the owners need help to rebuild in the future.
Forsyth County fire crews responded to 770 McFarland Pkwy. in Alpharetta just after 7 p.m. on Sunday evening after a fire.
No one was inside the business at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
Owners of BB’s Bagels said this is “one of the hardest messages we’ve ever had to share and they are “heartbroken.”
“We are heartbroken for our staff—many of whom have been with us for years,” according to a BB’s Bagels Facebook post. “Overnight, they lost their workplace and their source of income. These are people who have worked hard every day to make BB’s feel like home, and we are determined to take care of them as we rebuild.”
The business started a GoFundMe for employees affected by fire to help support their families.
According to the Facebook post, BB’s has been “more than just a bagel shop” for nearly 20 years. “It’s been a part of this community—a place where neighbors become friends, where families start their mornings, and where regulars are greeted by name,” according to the post.
The owners are focused on rebuilding and restoring the business that is special to the community.
“If BB’s has ever been part of your morning routine, your weekend tradition, or just a place that felt like home, please consider helping us bring it back. Thank you for standing by us. With your support, BB’s will be back,” the post said.
The cause of the fire is unknown.
