Roswell police say a fraud scheme roped-in more than a dozen victims, at a cost of more than one million dollars combined. Now two people are behind bars.

Roswell police detectives got a tip in June into reported rental fraud at a property along Pine Grove Rd.

“As they kind of pulled on that investigative thread, it unraveled into a rather extensive fraudulent business scheme that was involving more than a dozen victims and over a million dollars in monetary and property loss,” police officer/spokesman Tim Lupo tells WSB Radio.

Police say 57-year-old Earnest Williams and 46-year-old Ericka King were behind the scheme.

“Primarily they would align themselves with individuals who are experts in the areas of business growth, development, coaching, things of that nature. They would draw on their victims with the anticipation of growing their victims’ brands, their missions, their life goals, their social media followings,” says Lupo.

Detectives believe there is a “strong likelihood” others have been taken advantage of.

The suspects, Williams and King, are booked into the Fulton County Jail on a host of fraud, forgery, and theft charges.
