Peachtree Road Race returns to ‘normal’ Monday morning

It’s a tradition now 53 years strong - the AJC Peachtree Road Race. Roughly 50,000 runners Monday morning will take to the course that begins in Buckhead and ends in Piedmont Park.

After a 2020 pandemic-affected event that was all virtual and held in November, followed by 2021′s hybrid virtual/in-person and spread over two days’ time (July 3 and 4), this 2022 edition will be the most “normal” since 2019.

Most runners will compete in-person on July 4th Monday morning, while some have chosen a virtual option.

The wheelchair competition gets going at 6:25 a.m., followed by the elite and seeded women and men - from 6:50 a.m. to 7 a.m. Everyone else takes their marks and starts in five minute waves - from 7 a.m. through 8:30 a.m. Click here for start times and maps.

As for the weather at 7 a.m., the forecast is for mostly cloudy with a 20% chance for rain and 74 degrees. By 9 a.m. it’ll be 78 degrees.
