“Pink Worm” arrested, $100,000+ worth of meth seized

FLOYD COUNTY, Ga. — More than $100,000 worth of meth is off the streets of Floyd County.

The Rome/Floyd Metro Task Force says they seized the drugs after searching a home on Reece Street on Feb. 24.

Investigators say they found 2.04 kilos of methamphetamine packaged for resale, along with digital scales and less than an ounce of marijuana.

The approximate street value of the meth is $122,472, according to the task force.

Police took Alvin “Pink Worm” Sylvester Chambers, Jr. into custody.

Chambers is charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, possession and use of drug related objects and possession of marijuana less than one ounce.

The Rome/Floyd Task Force, Floyd County Police, Rome Police, Floyd County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Bureau of Investigation helped in the investigation.
