SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. — Sandy Springs police are investigating a shooting involving one of their own officers.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. along Spring Creek Lane.
Investigators confirm to Channel 2′s Mike Petchenik that a suspect shot at officers and the officers returned fire.
@SandySprings_PD is actively working a critical incident on Spring Creek Lane. A person who shot a firearm is barricaded inside an apartment. The man is now barricaded inside an apartment.
We have also learned that U.S. Marshals are responding to the shooting scene.
Petchenik is headed to the scene and is in contact with police to learn more about what led to the shooting.
