Police confirm that shots were fired at Arbor Place Mall in Douglasville after multiple people reached out to Channel 2 Action News to report a shooter.

Police said that two women got into a fight and at some point, a gun went off.

“Both females immediately fled the mall,” police said. “Not other subjects were involved in the fight.”

Detectives are working to identify the suspects.

“At this time, there are still no identifiable photos of the suspects or their vehicles to share,” police said.

One person was taken to the hospital for a fall injury in the ensuing chaos. That victim’s identity and condition have not been released.

The mall has since partially reopened. The mall entrance near the Regal Cinema/Security office is closed.

Callers reported being locked in storerooms and people panicking and running out of the mall. One woman said she was in the mall and heard at least one gunshot. She ran out of the mall, where she saw multiple emergency vehicles responding.

Police are asking anyone with information of video to share that information with police.

This shooting comes after a series of shootings at Lenox Square in Atlanta. One person was killed earlier this year in a dispute over a parking spot.
