Even though no one won the estimated $1.6 billion jackpot, several Georgians are big winners after Saturday night’s Powerball drawing.
No one took home the $1.6 billion Powerball jackpot, but a ticket sold in Georgia matched all five numbers. That ticket is worth $1 million.
The winning numbers were 28-45-53-56-6
Seven other tickets purchased in Georgia won the $50,000 dollar prize.
Channel 2 has reached out to the Georgia Lottery to learn where these winning tickets were purchased.
The next chance for someone to get lucky is Monday at 10:59 p.m. That jackpot is estimated to be $1.9 billion.
How do you claim winning lottery tickets in Georgia?
Georgia Lottery says any prizes less than $600 can be claimed at any of its retailers; however, prizes over $600 must be claimed at the lottery headquarters or district offices or mailed for the payment.
Winners of prizes of more than $600 must fill out a winner claim form and have a valid government-issued photo ID with a Social security card.
In Georgia, winners who purchased their tickets online have 180 days to claim their prize. For winners who buy instant tickets, they only have 90 days from the expired date to claim their prize.
