ATLANTA, GA — The president of the Savannah College of Art and Design is among those set to receive the presidential citizens medal in a ceremony Thursday.

In the announcement, the White House said of SCAD President Paula Wallace that she is “a lifelong educator and trailblazer of the arts, Paula Wallace dreamt of a school that would transform how we think about professional education. By establishing the esteemed Savannah College of Art and Design and serving as its president, she has guided thousands of students into creative industries.”

She joins the likes of Liz Cheney and Congressman Bennie Thompson, who served as the Chairman of the January 6th committee.
