ATLANTA — The world’s busiest airport is preparing for a busy spring break travel season.

Millions of people are expected to pass through Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport over the next couple of weeks.

A closure of the lower level roadway on the north side of the domestic terminal for 72 hours will affect travelers next week.

It will be closed from Monday to 10 p.m. until Thursday at 10 p.m.

All pickups, dropoffs, and airport shuttles will move to the upper level.

The airport is warning anyone flying over spring break needs to give themselves more time.

Arriving by car at the airport, travelers are greeted by construction signs and warnings that it may be hard to find a place to park.

Hartsfield-Jackson is predicting 4.4 million passengers to pass through over the two weeks of spring break travel, starting this Sunday through Easter with the busiest day on March 31.

Continued work on the north parking deck for renewal and reinforcing take out about half of the spaces.

That’s why the airport recommends that travelers check ahead to see if there are available spots.

Airport officials advise you to arrive at least two and a half hours before your flight.

The north parking deck is set to be finished just after Memorial Day.

It will be back to full capacity in time for the summer travel season.
