Sandy Springs church partnered with metro Atlanta police department to spread Christmas cheer

Hope Project partners with Dunwoody PD Joey McLaughlin, Lead Pastor at Elevate City Church said the purpose for the initiative was to provide people with hope.

DUNWOODY, Ga. — Some metro Atlanta families were provided with some much needed stress relief as Elevate City Church and Dunwoody PD partnered to make some “unusual holiday traffic stops.”

Joey McLaughlin, Lead Pastor at Elevate City Church in Sandy Springs, said the purpose for the initiative was to provide people with hope.

According to WSBTV, Dunwoody police offices pulled over some motorists for “minor traffic infractions,” and instead of giving them tickets, they were given gifts instead.

A team of good Samaritans were standing by at Target to help make families’ holidays special. They helped pick out the gifts, wrap them and pass them along to police, who would then initiate a traffic stop to spread some good cheer.

You can see the thoughts behind the initiative below.
