ATLANTA, GA — Georgia State Senator Colton Moore is arrested as he attempts to enter the House Chamber for the Governor’s State of the State Address.
Moore was barred by Current House Speaker Jon Burns due to disparaging comments Moore made about the late Former House Speaker David Ralston.
Moore was surrounded by state troopers and physically restrained by other state officials as he insisted he was being denied his constitutional right to attend the session as a sitting member of the state senate.
After he once again moved toward the door, troopers placed him in handcuffs.
Moore is from Trenton in far northwest Georgia and represents the state’s 53rd senate district.
He was booked into the Fulton County Jail and charged with a misdemeanor of willful obstruction of law enforcement officers.
He’s out on a $1,000 bond.
