SOUTH FULTON, GA — The mayor of South Fulton walked out of a city council meeting on Wednesday when councilmembers questioned his use of city credit cards.

Some councilmembers claim he’s spent thousands of dollars on travel, electronics, and office furniture.

Mayor Kalid Kamau, who also goes by Mayor Kobi, accuses the council of tearing each other down as the city heads into Black History Month.

His walkout comes as council-members authorize an audit of his expenses.

This is the same mayor who was arrested for trespassing to check out what he called was his “dream house” in 2023.

He also proposed to give himself a pay raise in 2024 and that taxpayers reimburse elected leaders for their tuition.
