Police say the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m. When officers arrived at the Camelot Condominium Complex at 5655 Old National Highway, they found three people dead at the 600 building.
Authorities identified the victims as 30-year-old Denise Dupree, 34-year-old Corey McDonald and 37-year-old Justin Santos.
Channel 2 reporter Christian Jennings said police were at the complex for over eight hours Sunday morning. Jennings spoke with several concerned residents who say hearing shots in the neighborhood is not unusual.
“I heard the shots but that’s not anything unusual because they start shooting around here at like 5 in the afternoon,” said Condia Perry.

The residents who spoke to Jennings showed her broken windows scattered around the complex while family members and friends of the victims stood by and grieved. The Criminal Investigation Division looked high and low for clues to help solve the crime.
“That’s hard. I’ve never seen a body bag, a person rolled out in a body bag. So this is my first time and it did something to me just then. And then to know it’s at your home,” Perry said.
Perry says she and the other residents living in the complex are fed up with the crime and lack of security. She pointed out that the front gate has been broken and wide open for years.
A member of the Complex board told Jennings by phone that the complex recently bought a license plate reading system which was put at the entrance. But also added the community has not been able to afford the repairs needed to fix the gate.
Perry says that is just not enough.
“It takes nothing to secure that gate. We’ve had talks about that you know and we’ve had South Fulton police come and have meeting with us on how to better secure Camelot because it’s tiresome for them even to keep coming out here every single day because of a shooting,” she added.
