The shell of the house on Oswego Trail has been an eyesore in the subdivision since a fire in October. South Fulton Director of Code Enforcement Brian Morris tells WSB Radio to the relief of everyone - especially the neighbors - the house is coming down.

The demolition will begin at 9 a.m. Thursday morning.

“We moved this up to the top priority because it was important for us to get this reminder from the neighborhood, we want to clean that neighborhood up and just kind of bring it back and let it be redeveloped at some point,” says Morris.

Four people died in that fire in the early morning hours of Oct. 19. Two of those victims were a 7-year-old and a grandmother. In total, 12 people were inside the home at the time – eight escaped the fire.

The blaze was ruled an arson. There are no new leads as to who set the fire.
