ATLANTA, GA — One teenager is dead and another is fighting for his life after a shooting in a neighborhood on Elkmont Ridge. Police say it happened at two separate homes in the area of Apache Street.
Police vehicles blocked several roadways and officers cordoned off an area with yellow tape around Elkmont Ridge Drive in the Legacy at Cascading Creek neighborhood.
Police report that at approximately 3:45 a.m. on Tuesday, they responded to a person shot call near Elkmont Ridge and Apache Street.
Upon arriving at 100 block of Elkmont Ridge, officers found an 18-year old lying in a driveway with a gunshot wound. The 16-year-old who survived is now in critical condition. He was found in the living room of another house.
Officers were observed going in and out of one home, but details on a potential suspect or the circumstances surrounding the shooting, are not yet clear.
