SOUTH FULTON, Ga. — South Fulton police continue to investigate the deaths of two people whose bodies were found burned and dumped in June, as one victim’s mother said her fight for justice will not stop.

Yaseen Robinson, 26, was recently identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office as the person found dead June 12. The body of Brittany Wicklein, 31, was found less than 5 miles away June 18.

Both cases remain unsolved.

“I have to get justice for my son. I have to,” said Constance Robinson, Yaseen Robinson’s mother. “I can’t let this go away.”

Constance Robinson lives in Detroit but has been in the Atlanta area since her son was first reported missing June 7. He was last seen June 2 by his roommate as he went to sleep in his room inside of their home on Campbellton Road Southwest.

Yaseen Robinson was a former Marine who was discharged after an injury during training, according to his mother. She said she struggles to think about who may have wanted to hurt him.

“He was so positive, loving,” said Constance Robinson. “He didn’t want the negativity around him.”

Yaseen Robinson was only recently identified because of how badly his body had been burned in the fire. Police found the body inside of his own car on Old Fairburn Road near Greentree Trail on June 12. Investigators used dental records to formally identify him and notified Constance Robinson on Friday, according to Robinson.

“[The killer(s)] took my son’s life,” she said. “And then they denied me to see his face one last time. I can’t even see my son’s face.”

It would be the first of two burned bodies found within 5 miles of each other.

Less than a week later, police found the body of Wicklein under a bridge on Jones Road.

Both Wicklein and Yaseen Robinson were first reported missing in Atlanta.

“Not only do you kill them — now you burn them,” said Constance Robinson. “You’re trying to get rid of evidence.”

South Fulton police do not believe the two cases are related. Both cases remain unsolved and are believed to have originated in Atlanta.

Missing person reports obtained by Channel 2 Action News show Wicklein was threatened and may have been kidnapped on Joseph East Boone Boulevard before her death. When a friend called her phone, the report indicated a young male answered and said, “Tell your cousin goodbye. It’s your last time talking to her.”

Yaseen Robinson’s mother said she went through his room after his death and found sentimental jewelry left behind.

“He doesn’t go out without his Marine ring,” she said. “Or some type of or necklace or something.”

Constance Robinson said she is planning a funeral for her son and trying to raise money to help with unexpected expenses.
