Ed Reed’s son, Edward Reed, is a junior who plays both receiver and defensive back for the Chamblee Bulldogs.
Reed is lauded as one of the greatest players to step foot on any football field. He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens in 2002 where he played until the 2013 season.
In 2013, he was signed by the Houston Texans. Later that season, he was signed by the New York Jets where he reunited with Rex Ryan and the New York Jets. Ryan was a defensive coordinator with the Baltimore Ravens early in Reed’s tenure and coached him.
Reed was named to nine pro bowls, earned multiple All-Pro honors, and broke multiple NFL records during his tenure with Baltimore.
He helped the Ravens win Super Bowl 47 against the San Francisco 49ers following the 2012 season where he helped the Ravens defense match wits with young rookie phenom Andrew Luck, NFL legends Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, before beating Colin Kaepernick in the Super Bowl.
In 2004, 2008 and 2010, Reed led the NFL in interceptions. Reed finished his career playing in 174 games with 64 interceptions and 13 defensive touchdowns.
In addition, he also served as a defensive backs coach for the Buffalo Bills in 2016, also under Ryan. He also coached his alma mater, the Miami Hurricanes and a high school football team in Florida.
Reed has the leadership, instinct, skillset, experience and work ethic to help coach the Bulldogs’ offense. He knows defense well, he knows offense well, and knows what it takes to win.
