ATLANTA — Police have blown up a suspicious package that had part of Peachtree Street shut down near the Savannah College of Art and Design Atlanta campus.

A student shared an alert sent by SCAD warning students about police activity in the area Friday evening.

Police confirmed they were investigating a suspicious package in the area.

Several police cars are still near one of the SCAD entrances and blocking off some lanes near the Deering Road intersection as well as on Peachtree Street.
