Trial begins Coweta County murder case

The man suspected of killing three members of the same family two and a half years ago is on trial in Newnan.

The trial for Jacob Christian Muse, who is accused of killing Evelyn and Richard Hawk and their grandson Luke is underway in Coweta County. The Hawks ran Lock, Stock, and Barrell, a gun range and shop in Grantville.

The trio was shot and killed on April 8, 2022. The Hawks’ son and Luke’s dad, Coweta County Coroner Richard Hawk, Jr. was first on the scene that day and discovered the bodies.

Muse was arrested several days later after an intense hunt involving local, state, and federal authorities.

Muse is facing several charges including three counts of Malice Murder.
