ATLANTA, GA — At Stone Mountain High School, administrators received a report on Thursday that a student may have had a weapon.  After a search, the weapon was found and secured, but it did lead to a brief lockdown. No one was harmed or threatened.

In an e-mail to parents, the school’s principal says the incident shows the importance of the district’s See Something, Say Something campaign.

Also, a student brought an unloaded gun in his backpack to Parkview High School.  Principal David Smith said it was found after a classmate reported it.

No one was threatened and the student is facing charges.
