‘Unruly’ passenger causes Atlanta-bound flight to be diverted, Delta officials say

A flight bound for Atlanta was diverted to Denver due to an incident on board.

Delta Airlines told our partners at Channel 2 Action News that Delta Flight 44 from Portland to Atlanta was diverted to Denver due to an ‘unruly’ passenger.

The flight landed in Denver without incident.

Passengers said that at the time, they had no idea why they were landing.

“A couple of people from the airport came on the plane, and she went off with them,” Erin Porter, a passenger on the flight, said.

The identity of the passenger and what transpired have not been released.

“We apologize to our customers on board for the disruption and delay to their travel plans,” Delta Airlines officials said in a statement.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation said they are still investigating and have not said whether or not the passenger will face charges.
